Easter

The past week hasn't been a great training week due to travel and sick kids, but that is life. I had a good ride yesterday from Southwest Cycle Sport with a few friends. We started at 7:30am which is nice because it got me home around 10am giving me the whole day for the family. I hope to get out today for a ride if possible.

My wife baked one of my favorite things in the world yesterday. Easter Bread! I think that is the best thing about Easter - the Easter Bread.

Notice the braids. Not only good tasting, but also good looking.

This morning, the Easter Bunny, who is also called Chris hid eggs for Angelo to find. It was great watching him fly around the house with his little basket looking for eggs. I think he is on his way to O.Ding on chocolate, so I am going to have to reel it in on him a bit. I imagine before I know it he will think Easter is stupid and will sleep until noon on all holidays. Sighh. He is growing so fast. :(

The wife also made an Easter Basket for us and the dogs. In college when me and my rugby roomies would order pizza the first thing you had to do upon opening the lid was spit all over your pieces to make sure that you got your fair share. I did the same thing with the Easter basket today. In fact, I am quite sure that Karen now wants nothing in the basket. The dogs don't seem to care though.

Have a good Easter.

Hey Chris, I thought you were in the USA? But then you say Rugby, are you talking about Rugby Union? Didn't think Americans played Rugby... Happy Easter. Sev.

You guys are too civilized. When I was in college, a pizza delivery was consumed way too fast for any spittle to make its way onto the pie. Think school of piranhas attacking the poor rat that falls in the river.

Speaking of piranhas attacking, I am hungry and that bread looks mighty appealing.

Spitting on the pizza? Where did you go to college, Neanderthal University? :^)
Nice looking bread. I would assume mine is in the mail as we speak, correct?
Yeah, that "Leave me alone! I'm sleeping!" comment at all the holidays is right around the corner. Won't be long now.

I agree with my hubby. The big training block this weekend has left me drooling while looking at your post. FOOD! I NEED FOOD!

Happy Easter!

Aw, don't worry about Angelo. I still have my Dad hide eggs for me to hunt & I'm nearly 30. This year easter was too early for any of us to get into the swing of it, though, so we're doing it in April on our own. Take advantage of discounted candy Monday!

Lauren - I like your style.

Sev - Rubgy Union. It is a growing sport here. I played 4 years at university and a year for a men's club in Texas. Tell me you have never heard of the international powerhouse American Eagles. HA!

Blue - it was only about 50% effective on food. My roommates were animals.

Jahowie - thanks. I hope your Easter went well too.

Rick - that bread is the best. Next year a loaf will be sent to you.

Oldman - I know it is coming but I think it will be a drag. It is fun to see the excitement now. I will send you a loaf next year too.

Chatterbox - you can eat all the peanut butter eggs that I have been trying hard to avoid.

BBelf - I ate so much candy yesterday I actually think my calorie count was 5 digits. But I figured it is once a year so who cares.

We are so motivated to sell our Wisconsin house that we spent all Easter doing renovations -- and then realized around 2 p.m. that it was Easter. So no chocolate for us. I don't even dare go down to Texas and start looking for houses because I know I will fall in love and never return. But our house here is starting to look so good that I'm really, really hoping someone might want it. It should be completely redone in about 5 weeks. I cannot wait.

Hey Chris, so what is the reaction of most Americans when they see how brutal Union is compared to NFL? NFL always seems tame compared to Union whenever I see it on tv... Anyway, I played in my youth but then I stopped growing... I am too small now. Sev.

Sev - Americans will never admit that anything could be rougher than American football. They are two very different games. Even though pads are worn in American football, the contact is still violent. However, the physical conditioning that is required for rugby is not required for AF because the players are only active 7 seconds at a time on average. I played AF for 9 years and enjoyed that very much. I enjoyed rugby very much as well. I think Americans will always think AF is king at least until they get out onto a rugby pitch.

Yes... the bread looks awesome. I love the spitting on the pizza. One day your son will not only sleep until noon... he'll also claim the most pie slices by spitting first.

I tried the spitting technique when I went to the Porsche dealer. Didn't go over well. Maybe the guys at the Ferrari dealership will be more understanding.

oh, btw- now you've got me jonesing for Easter Bread. Never had it, but it LOOKS DELICIOUS!!!

Donald - spitting on the pizza won't work with me. I have no fear of kid spit.

Trebone - that is funny! Easter Bread rules!

Hope you didn't catch any of your kid's germs? The bread does look delicious. I'll have bread over chocolate anytime.

Groover - I would always choose chocolate if it didn't make me so fat.

Mallie - you didn't hide eggs for your hubby?
