Late October

My month off the bike is almost over. I am in Laguna Beach, CA at the moment for work. I have been running regularly. Usually about 5 miles at a 9 minute pace. Pretty slow, but it is good for keeping active. I ran on the beach yesterday barefoot and am now missing most of the skin from my big toes. I won't try that again soon. I have been bad about reading and posting blogs. I hope everyone is doing well.

Here is some great entertainment.

Good to hear from you... I took about 3 weeks off the bike. It was good for me. Hope the same for you. Good for you on the running... I don't really like running. The video is GOOD entertainment. Hope all else is well.

Hi Chris,
Good to know you are enjoying your break and doing some running. Like Donald, I am not very keen as I have too many knee issues in the past.
So, what is the plan for winter? Some cross-training?

Running on the beach sounds like great fun. So you are still travelling heaps for work, hey? Good to hear that you are well and I'm looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming training plans.

I tried running on the beach once too, and my feet were killing me for days. There is nothing wrong with a 9 minute pace. Keep up the good work.

A month off. I would kill for ONLY a month off.
Missing your sparkling wit and insight. Get back to posting regularly will ya?
That video is an example of why there should be tighter controls on who and who can't reproduce!

I'll let you keep the running. My knees have not been up to it for years, now I have doctor's orders to avoid it :-)

Next time just dive into the ocean, and leave the running behind.

i had to come back and watch that video again. i almost felt bad for laughing (so hard that i had tears...) the first time i saw it. it's still some funny shit the second time around. oldman is right. some people shouldn't reproduce. but then we wouldn't have all that funny crap to laugh at. never mind. :)

Donald - I think it will be good for me.

Amrcyclist - cross training and base building is the plan.

Groover - travel has slowed down but November is a busy month. Not much will happen then until the beginning of the year.

Blue - I had to wipe the tears from my eyes too. And I always wear my thong.

Jahowie - I wonder if they make shoes for running in the sand. I didn't want to muck up my good running shoes.

Lily - come to think of it my feet are really smooth now :)

Oldman - I think they should give every 15 year old a video camera and a YouTube account. They keep the world entertained.

Rick - there are giant squid in these waters.

I ran up and down the beach with my son for a couple hours, and I could barely walk the next day! My shins and calves were aching from using new muscle groups!

Those brave boys made those girls get into the cradle of death huh? I'll have to watch that again!

now that you've told the world about the thong, don't ya think it's time to tell about the "pleasure bumps"?

Lauren - doesn't everyone?

Jeff - I think the thought was the girls fly better. HA!

Betty - I bet they were pretty groggy and probably bruised after that experience.

Blue - I don't follow your routine, brutha.

Ron - I didn't ride, so I didn't go. He did well. He has been showing up at local races for a while. I guess it is all part of the master plan.
