Feeling Run Down
I have been sick since Sunday night. I have the typical runny nose, coughing, and congestion. I took Monday and Tuesday off from training. Today I made myself get on the stationary bike at my hotel, but only lasted 30 minutes before I was toast. This will be a week of no progress and possibly some regress. SIGGHH. Hopefully the weather will be good this weekend and I will get two good days of riding in.
I had to get a Yellow Fever vaccination on Monday. I would blame that for my cold, but my cold started on Sunday. I will be in Thailand the first week of June. Thailand does not have Yellow Fever. However, if you are applying for a business visa and have been to a country on their "BAD" list in the past 10 years, you have to get the vaccine and submit the papers with your passport. I looked at the list. There it was. Brazil. FUCK!! So, off to the doctor to get my shot for $145. My arm is ouchie now. :(
I am leaving Cleveland tomorrow morning to go to Norfolk, Virginia to meet a customer to play golf. I would rather be going back to Texas, but how bad can golf be? I can't really complain.

I wasn't aware of such differences between a tourist and a business visa. Why not get the former?
Thailand? Awesome! I assume you're going to only be in the Bangkok area. Drink lots of Chang beer and eat lots of spicy food for me!
Come home early. I'll make you chicken soup!
(Bug and I miss you anyway).
Fendergal - I always get business visas to "follow the rules" because I travel for business reasons. I am guessing I could get away with a tourist visa and if they keep poking me, I am going to find out. I have never been to Thailand and look forward to seeing it. And yes, it will be mostly Bangkok. I have made a note on the Chang beer. Thanks:)
Wife - I wish I could. I miss you and bug.
What's a little ouchie when it means Thai food adn good beer?
In the meantime go home to your wife and Mr. Bug - get better soon....
yikes. hope you feel better.
it's awful to travel when you're sick.
i'll probably visit thailand in july. i'll be in manila for 2 weeks for work and i'm thinking on the weekends i'll go to maybe vietnam and thailand. or maybe china.
anyhoo, take good care of yourself
and jeez, you travel ALOT!
Alicia - but it hurts when I push on it. Push Push. OUCH!
Lauren - that should be a fun trip. I didn't know you traveled for work. Will this be your first time to the Phillipines?
the customer always wins when you play golf, right? my youngest son says he never keeps score but i know he does. it's the nature (curse?) of competitive people to do so....
have fun. get well.
peace out, yo!
You are the world traveller. Cleveland, the "mistake on the lake" and then Thailand? Hope you got to visit the Rock n' Roll Hall of Shame (They have not inducted Yes or Genesis, but SHANANA? Who are these nimrods anyway?).
I would second the shot in the arm vs. authentic Thai food. A small sacrifice for a culinary treat.
Wait a minute. Did you mention BRAZIL? Oh, you are a lucky bastard aren't you? :^)
Hang in there, Sniffles. Sometimes forced rest periods actually let yo come back stronger.
Golf? That's an evil activity. Glad it's you.
That long overseas trek....good luck with the exercise. But darn...authentic Thai? yes!
Yeah, what Sweet Cheeks said.
I know you already have one pair of fancy pants, but you may need yet another to play golf in. I think you need plaid knickers or pants if I'm not mistaken. And a beret with a little fluff ball on the top. Something like THIS.
Hope you feel better!
Blue - the customer always wins because my game is shit.
Oldman - if Shanana is really in the Hall, it completely invalidates it for me. HA!
Sweet Cheeks and Syd - thanks. I hope so!
Anne - the food should be good, but the trip better be damn productive to take two weeks of my life. Let's hope!
Jeff - that is a sweet get up! I will have to look in NERDS-R-US to see if I can find those duds. Thanks for the heads up. :)
