Shoooo is Hot Out There
When I left for my ride after work today it was 95 degrees, but for some reason it felt 10 degrees hotter. My ass was dragging out there on the road. I kept thinking that I had a low back tire because there was no way I should be going that slow with so much effort. The heat today was just draining.
Scott Baio is 45 and Single has been replaced by Flight of the Conchords as my new favorite show. For those of you who haven't seen it, you should. It is about two friends from New Zealand who are living in NYC and have a two man band with only one fan. It sounds strange, but it is all laughs.

Yep, there have been moments this year when I've almost passed out in the heat, trying to figure out why I hated winter so much.
We're having mild temperatures right now though! 70's - 80's. Very strange for this time of year.
it's hot here too. (not to be confused with ("she's hot!!!")
it wasn't a low back tire, it was your rear wheel sinking into the semi-molten asphalt! it happens!
keep riding!
peace out, yo!
Man, I am dragging ass in 85 degrees and 90% humidity here this week. Can you get a bike with air conditioning?
I am a big fan of Flight of the Conchords; hilarious!
I have been following John from Cincinnati as well. Very bizarre, but I really have enjoyed it.
When the temps start climbing above 90F then I start melting. I grew up in the mountains and temps were rarely much above 90, even more rare to hit the triple digits. I have never adjusted. I can ride fine in the cold, but keep that heat away from me! That is why I am enjoying this week where an unusual summer low pressure area is keeping us in the nice and mild 60s and 70s. Ahhhhh.
Hang in, keep up with the hydration and electrolytes, and look forward to fall and cooler temps. Or you can come out here for a visit and some cool temps now ;-)
man, here in oaktown it's been 50 degrees and soo foggy. i want some summer!
and yeah! that show, flight of the conchords is hilarious!
You need to come visit us. We're struggling with high 70s/low 80s. :)
Jeff - sounds like your area is the place to be.
Blue - that is very possible. The tar is crackling.
Oldman - I haven't seen John from Cincinnati yet, but will have to check it out. I wonder if you can mount one of those misting fans on a bike.
Rick - I think I will come out to your area in the Spring for business/riding. Maybe around Sea Otter.
Lauren - I would take that right now for sure over this.
Them Country Folk - sounds good. But you have worse winters than we do summers in my opinion.
Chris: You can mount it on the bar, but eventually you'll run out of hose! DOOH! :^)
Expected heat index today = 111. Same for tomorrow. Makes doing anything outdoors extremely difficult. August is looking rough right now.
it's about 400 percent humidity here. can't breathe. scared to go out ...
Not quite as hot here - today, anyway. Dontcha love the magical way your heartrate skyrockets in the heat - when you're barely moving?
Cycling in the heat sucks, but running is even suckier. ACK!
Oooh. That's how I felt at my stage race. Ugh. It's super mild here in the Bay Area. Strange weather patterns abound. Good luck staying cool.
